Vineland Man Pushing Shopping Cart Struck By Two Vehicles, Killed In Hit-And-Run: Police

A Vineland man died when he was hit by a car and an SUV while crossing a street, authorities said.

Michael Cimback Jr., 72, was killed in the hit-and-run crash on Thursday, Nov. 7, the Vineland Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the wreck near the intersection of West Landis and Coney avenues at around 5:25 p.m.

Investigators said a dark green Honda sedan was heading west on West Landis Avenue when the car struck Cimback while he was pushing a shopping cart across the road. The Honda continued west and left the crash scene.

A 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe was also traveling west on West Landis when the SUV struck Cimback a second time. He was rushed to Inspira Medical Center Vineland and pronounced dead at the hospital.

The 36-year-old Vineland man who drove the Chevy wasn't injured. No charges have been filed and the investigation was ongoing as of Friday, Nov. 8.
